Who Should Attend

Principals, Assistant Principals, Aspiring Administrators, Deans and District Level Staff.

Session Description

Effective school leaders are able to plan, implement, and evaluate the operations of schools with others in ways that achieve the organizational goals and results in the development of safe and productiv learning communities. This course will emphasize and demonstrate the knowledge and processes necessary for effective school management. Topics that will be included within this class:

  • Creating a positive supportive school climate.
  • Building a strong culture across the school district organization: Leadership matters.
  • What exactly is crisis management?
  • The use of technology as school leaders.
  • Developing a plan to deal with public and media relations and communications (social media)?
  • Building capacity through staff development.
  • Effectively managing classified and certificated personnel.
  • Parent and parent and community involvement at the school level.
  • A sensible approach to health and safety in schools.
  • Identifying special education students, programs and interventions.
  • Allocating your valuable resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Why school discipline serves the purpose of maintaining safe and orderly learning environments.
  • Facilities: how an effective school facility is responsive to the changing programs of educational delivery.

About the Presenter


Dr. Ziggy Robeson

Dr. Robeson’s work within school systems encompasses administrative assignments including; superintendent, deputy superintendent, assistant superintendent, director, principal, and coordinator positions. Prior to her administrative work she taught in both public and private schools as a classroom teacher in various grade levels from kindergarten thru adult levels. She has presented at multiple conferences and workshops both in the United States and internationally. Dr. Robeson led multiple efforts developing creative solutions to improve programs and processes for schools which resulted in numerous state and federal awards, as well as the creation and development of a highly successful fine arts school. Increasing student achievement though continuous improvement and high expectations is her passion.

Hours of Instruction

Each Level Course is 15 hours of instruction over two full consecutive days with an opportunity for follow-up activities for the purposes of implementation of learned content.

Fees and Cancellation

Cost: 1,390 AED until January 23, 2018 (subject to space availability).
1,550 AED after January 23, 2018.
For those registering for the first day only – 765 AED.
(All materials included. Lunch and morning/afternoon break refreshments are provided.)

Cancellations received by January 23, 2017 will be subject to a 200 AED fee.
Cancellations received after January 23, 2017 and “No Shows” will be subject to the full registration fee.
