Session 1: Differentiation of Curriculum

The differentiation of curriculum and instruction is essential to meeting the diverse learning needs of students in the classroom. Differentiation entails understanding how to adapt the content, process, and product of the curriculum so that all students achieve mastery of essential learning.

Hours of Instruction: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Session 2: School Leadership & Student Achievement

The quality of leadership is second only to the quality of classroom instruction in determining student achievement. Strategies to develop leadership skills; how leadership influences learning, three sets of linkages between school leadership and student outcomes, setting direction, developing people, and redesigning the organization.

Hours of Instruction: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Session 3: Effective Formative & Summative Assessment

Assessment is a key component of effective instruction and plays a major role in improving student achievement. Each type of assessment serves a specific function in evaluating teaching and learning.

Hours of Instruction: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Session 4: Education Management-Educational Leadership

Being an academic leader is simply not enough in today’s educational management. Style as well as substance matters. The course will cover theoretical assumptions of management with emphasis on analysis of leadership, leadership styles, self-assessment and articulation of a vision consistent with a well-developer educational philosophy.

Hours of Instruction: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm


Session 5: Developing a Proactive Intervention Network

This session exposes participants to building and maintaining systems of support, specific interventions for academic, behavior, and social/emotional needs. It will also provide participants with resources that can be used at sites and classrooms. Educators will explore the use of assessment tools and universal screeners to identify the needs of their students and meet them where they are. Developing and learning to use data collection and analysis systems to assess, measure and monitor student progress and make sure students get targeted support.

Session 6: Bullying Prevention

Preventing bullying requires a school-wide, intentional program to promote awareness of the characteristics of bullying along with steps that can be taken to stop it. This session describes how educators can identify bullying behavior and what can be done to promote considerate behavior among students.

Hours of Instruction: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Session 7: Smaller Learning Community

Steps for schools to build a culture of collaboration among grade level teachers at the elementary level, and among subject matter tears at the secondary level, will be presented. Using student performance on school-wide assessments as the base, strategies to engage teachers in a shared effort to examine teaching approaches and improve the learning experience for students will be demonstrated.

Session 8: Organizational Management & School Community Collaboration

This course will emphasize the importance of communication with parents and how to effectively communicate with the school community involving topics that cover happy to sad to mad.
