Session Description

The differentiation of curriculum and instruction is essential to meeting the diverse learning needs of students in the classroom. Differentiation entails understanding how to adapt the content, process, and product of the curriculum so that all students achieve mastery of essential learning.

This course will focus on planning, implementing, and assessing a differentiated curriculum. Topics to be discussed will include:

  • Analyzing data/assessments to determine student strengths and learning gaps;
  • Using the cycle of inquiry to analyze, plan, act, and reflect on student data and mastery of essential standards;
  • Examining various alternatives to differentiate the presentation of subject matter (content);
  • Analyzing multiple methods to differentiate the manner in which students acquire information (process);
  • Investigating multiple options for students to show what they know (product);
  • Comparing and contrasting Differentiated Curriculum with Universal Design for Learning Principles;
  • Exploring sample planning protocols; and
  • Planning a differentiated classroom lesson.

Training Goals

To provide school staff with the tools to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.

About the Presenter

Mr. Andrew Stetkevich

Mr. Stetkevich has over 35 years of experience in education. He has taught at the elementary and secondary levels in both general education and special education. His previous positions include: mentor teacher, beginning teacher support provider, site administrator, adjunct professor of education, program specialist, and staff development specialist. Mr. Stetkevich currently works as a staff development specialist (K-12) for the Riverside Unified School District in Riverside, California. He has a passion for working with diverse learners and has presented on this subject at various national and international conferences, including the British Dyslexia Association and the European Literacy Conference.

Hours of Instruction

Each Level Course is 15 hours of instruction over two full consecutive days with an opportunity for follow-up activities for the purposes of implementation of learned content.

Fees and Cancellation

Cost: 1,390 AED until April 2, 2018 (subject to space availability).
1,550 AED after April 2, 2018.
For those registering for the first day only – 765 AED.

Cancellations received by April 2, 2018 will be subject to a 200 AED fee.
Cancellations received after April 2, 2018 and “No Shows” will be subject to the full registration fee.
